The Nambi Water Users Association in the Kavango East region organized a community campaign to mark World Environment Day, reinforcing the local commitment to protecting natural resources and adapting to climate change.

The activity forms part of the ADSWAC Project, implemented by DAPP Namibia, which has supported the installation of water supply systems and climate-resilient infrastructure to ensure sustainable access to water for domestic use, livestock, and agricultural production.

In addition to investing in infrastructure, the project has focused on strengthening Water Users Associations by building the capacity of their members to manage, maintain, and protect community water supply systems.

The community engagement demonstrated during the environmental campaign reflected the growing involvement of local residents in preserving both the infrastructure and water resources, contributing to their long-term sustainability.

By combining climate-adapted technologies, community-based management, and environmental education, the ADSWAC Project continues to strengthen the resilience of rural communities and promote sustainable solutions to the challenges posed by climate change in the region.
