The communities of Hoha, within the intervention area of the ADSWAC Project, are experiencing significant progress in promoting food security and adapting to climate change through the adoption of sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices.

On the occasion of World Food Safety Day, community leaders highlighted the results achieved through the support provided by DAPP Namibia and its partners, emphasizing the positive transformation observed in agricultural production and the quality of life of local families.

Through the ADSWAC Project – Climate Change Adaptation in the Angola–Namibia Cross-Border Region, farmers in the Kavango East and Kavango West regions have received training in conservation agriculture techniques and efficient water management, enabling them to increase production even in areas affected by water scarcity.

The practices introduced have made it possible to produce crops throughout the year, contributing to improved family nutrition and strengthened food security within the communities.

The use of sustainable farming methods and solutions adapted to local climatic conditions is also promoting soil restoration, reducing the vulnerability of rural households, and increasing their capacity to adapt to climate change.

The results achieved demonstrate the vital role of knowledge, innovation, and community participation in building more resilient and sustainable food systems.
