Governor of Cubango Assesses Progress of the ADSWAC Project in Calai

The Governor of Cubango province, Dr. José Martins, carried out a working visit to the ADSWAC Project in the municipality of Calai to closely follow the progress of ongoing activities. The agenda included monitoring key infrastructure and community initiatives being implemented in the region.

During the visit, the Governor inspected the construction works of the Regional Climate Change Resilience Building Centre, considered one of the project’s key infrastructures. On the ground, he observed capacity-building actions directed at 120 producer organizations and 120 Water User Associations (AUA), as well as the progress of fencing the 120 model plots.

The visit also included follow-up on the Green Schools Programme, which promotes environmental education within local communities. At the model field, the Governor witnessed practical demonstrations of planting eggplant, garlic, and onions, showcasing the results achieved through the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.

The occasion was further marked by direct interaction with rural women producers and students, who shared experiences, challenges, and lessons gained through the project, reinforcing the positive impact of the interventions in the municipality.
