Dirico strengthens commitment to climate action and sustainable development
In the municipality of Dirico, Cuando Province, two important activities carried out under the ADSWAC Project have reinforced the commitment of local communities to environmental protection and climate resilience.
Recently, the Green School agent organized an environmental awareness campaign at the 28 de Agosto School, involving students, teachers, and the school’s director. Using educational materials such as the poster “Increase of 2 Degrees Celsius,” the event aimed to raise awareness about the risks of global warming and emphasize the importance of community action in mitigating climate change.
The activity received strong participation from the school community, which expressed interest in adopting more sustainable practices in their daily lives, consolidating the role of environmental education as an essential tool for social transformation.
Following this, the ADSWAC Project received a visit from the Provincial Director of Agriculture for Cuando, Eng. Victorino Samanjolo. During the meeting, the head of the Dirico Climate Centre presented the main ongoing activities, highlighting the project’s positive impact in promoting sustainable agriculture and strengthening community resilience.
The visit concluded at the field of the Shamamputo Producers’ Organization (PO), where the director observed the fenced area and praised ADSWAC’s work in promoting local agricultural development and adaptation to climate change.
