ADSWAC Team Trained in Monitoring & Evaluation

A regional training for the ADSWAC Coordination Team, focused on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and Training of Trainers (ToT) for activity “1.1.1.4 – Conducting Community Vulnerability Assessments”, took place in Rundu, Namibia, from 1 to 5 December 2025.

The capacity-building session was led by independent consultant Obert Mutumba, with support from the Regional Coordinator, and brought together representatives from the National Executing Entity (NEE), coordination teams from the ADPP Angola and DAPP Namibia projects, the ADSWAC M&E Specialist, ADPP’s M&E Technician, and David Kerkhofs from the technical team of Humana Federation, the institution responsible for providing technical assistance to the project.

The activity responded to recommendations from the Mid-Term Evaluation and OSS supervision reports, reinforcing the need to improve the quality of monitoring and evaluation processes within ADSWAC.

During the training, participants analysed the process and key tools for conducting Community Vulnerability Assessments, addressing data collection methodologies, reporting procedures, and strategies to strengthen coordination between field teams and M&E structures. The practical component included hands-on exercises and training sessions for community facilitators.

On 6 December, the training was complemented by field visits to several project sites, including the Regional Climate Action Centre in Calai and communities located in Calai, Kavango West and Cuangar. These visits allowed participants to apply the skills gained and observe firsthand the conditions in the intervention areas.

The initiative aimed to improve the quality of vulnerability assessments and strengthen the implementation of ADSWAC, contributing to more effective interventions aligned with the needs of beneficiary communities.
