The ADSWAC Project recently carried out its first harvest in the field of the Regional Community Centre for Climate Change, in the municipality of Calai. The activity resulted in the production of 120 kg of eggplant and 10 kg of onions, marking the launch of the experimental cultivation phase at this community site.

This stage focused on testing agricultural techniques and adapting practices to local soil and climate conditions, laying the foundation for future diversified and sustainable plantings. Part of the production was set aside for seed selection for upcoming agricultural seasons, ensuring continuity and strengthening the centre’s productive capacity.

The experience also enabled the technical team to assess crop performance, identify areas for improvement, and consolidate practical learning that will guide the next phases of production.

At the same time, in the municipality of Dirico, and as part of the celebrations of National Environment Day, the ADSWAC Project, in coordination with the Municipal Administration, promoted a campaign for the distribution and planting of fruit trees. The initiative culminated in the planting of 45 seedlings, including 30 papaya trees and 15 passion fruit trees.

The activity was attended by staff from the Municipal Administration, school management teams, technicians, officers from the Public Order and Security Police, teachers, and members of civil society, reinforcing community involvement and the collective commitment to environmental sustainability.
